Building Blocks for Teaching Preschoolers with Special Needs

Building Blocks is a book with a specific set of practices that are meant to increase engagement of children with disabilities and delays in the ongoing learning  activities  of the early childhood  environment. It is a way of blending early childhood education and special education to enhance learning for all children

Participants will:

  • Understand the relationship between Building Blocks practices and current trends in early childhood education
  • Become familiar with the Building Blocks text as a resource
  • Learn about the Building Blocks model for integrating Special Education and Early Childhood Education to benefit all children
  • Understand how to use and teach Curriculum Modifications, Embedded Learning Opportunities, and Child-Focused Instructional Strategies
