State Preschool

State preschools are free programs for families who meet state income and family size criteria. These programs receive state funding and typically serve children 3 to 4 in preschool or pre-kindergarten classrooms.

QSSB enrolled the first participating early education programs in 2016. This is the first year that eligible programs in QSSB received a rating. Up until 2020, programs were re-rated every two years. Going forward, they will now be rated every 3 to 5 years depending on the needs of that program.

Due to Covid-19, no ratings will be given in 2021. In the meantime, participating programs will continue to engage in quality-building behaviors like attending training and professional development opportunities and working with QSSB staff.

We appreciate all the programs across San Bernardino County that have said Yes! to high quality care and education.
